Herbert Smith and Norton Rose are the latest firms to hike their LPC maintenance grants. Both firms are increasing their grants to £7,000. The decisions to bring the firms into line with the amounts paid by Clifford Chance, Linklaters and Slaughter and May take effect from September 2006. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Lovells have not yet announced changes to their trainee grants. However, a Freshfields source told The Lawyer that it is planning to increase funding.
