Herbies finds 84 volunteers to take redundancy

Herbert Smith has concluded its redundancy consultation with all those due to leave the firm opting for voluntary redundancy.

In April the firm revealed plans to cut 84 positions from its London practice while also freezing salaries at the 2008-09 levels (20 April).

In a statement released today Herbert Smith said it had received “sufficient voluntary redundancy applications and requests for alternative working arrangements to achieve the required number of reductions” without having to make compulsory redundancies.

New positions will be created for those seeking alternative working arrangements, the firm added.
