Herbert Smith has bagged its new chief operating officer (COO) from software company Oracle.

The firm has hired Norman Green, Oracle's chief financial officer for the UK, Ireland and South Africa, as COO. Prior to joining Oracle, Green was finance director at Arthur Andersen.
