Herbert Smith’s Fleck to chair auditing standards body

Herbert Smith worldwide practice partner Richard Fleck has been appointed chairman of the Auditing Practices Board, a subsidiary of the Accountancy Foundation.

Fleck, widely known as ‘the accountants’ lawyer’, had a longstanding advisory relationship with Andersen until its collapse and also acts for PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG.

He has been involved in audit standard setting since 1986, when he became a member of the Auditing Practices Committee.
