Herbert Smith to forge closer university ties

Herbert Smith has launched a campus manager programme to strengthen the firm's links with law students at the universities it targets for trainees.

The top 10 City firm will recruit second-year law students to become campus managers toactasformalstudent representatives for the firm. The managers will then provide the firm with feedback on the students' requirements.

Herbert Smith has rolled out the programme to 18 universities, including five that the firm has not traditionally targeted: Brunel, City, Leicester, Queen Mary University London and the University of East Anglia.
