Herbert Smith replaces financial institution head

Herbert Smith partner David Willis has become head of the firm's financial institutions group following the retirement of insurance luminary Marian Pell

Willis has taken over the reins in London, having left Herbert Smith's Asia practice in the hands of Mark Lloyd-Williams last year. After 28 years at Herbert Smith, Pell has opted to retire to pursue her interest in music. Pell's CV includes last year's £4bn demutualisation and flotation by Friends Provident.
