Heller Ehrman has completed its first major deal in London since opening for business in the capital in February, floating internet search engine Blinkx on AIM.
Former WilmerHale corporate partners Richard Eaton and Struan Penwarden led on the deal, which saw Blinkx separate from software company Autonomy to list on AIM.
San Francisco-based partner Nora Gibson advised on the US capital markets aspects.
Autonomy is a longstanding client of Eaton, who acted on its IPO on the London Stock Exchange and on its $500m (£253.27m) acquisition of Verity while at WilmerHale.
Heller rocked WilmerHale in February with the hire of a three-partner corporate team made up of Eaton, Penwarden and Christopher Grew. The group now forms the core of Heller's emerging technologies team in London.
The firm opened its London office at the beginning of the year, sending over US partners Ted Henneberry and Brian Smith for the launch.
