Heller City corporate partners to join Orrick

The core of Heller Ehrman’s London corporate team is poised to join Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe before the end of the week.
Corporate partners Richard Eaton, Chris Grew and Struan Penwarden will join Orrick’s London office with three assistants.
“It’s almost a done deal,” said an Orrick source, “I don’t foresee any problems now.”
With Boston’s Goodwin Procter set to open in London with the US real estate partners from Heller that just leaves two London partners and about seven associates seeking a new home.
The team completes a massive haul for Orrick, which has already taken 27 partners from Heller after it dissolved last month. That group included London competition partner Douglas Lahnborg, who joined the Heller partnership from the associate ranks at Slaughter and May.
The latest hires will mean that Orrick has inherited four partners in London, three in New York, 14 in San Francisco, and five each in Seattle and Washington DC.
