Gordon Finlayson will relocate from Dubai to Budapest to take up the position, which was created following a corporate restructure that saw HBO take control of what was previously a joint venture.

Until now Finlayson has been head of legal at subscription television service OSN, which was previously known as Showtime Arabia.

At HBO Finlayson will lead a team providing legal advice on operations in 14 countries in Eastern and Central Europe including Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria.

In a statement HBO’s central Europe CEO Linda Jensen said: “His knowledge and international experience will be invaluable to HBO Central Europe as we continue to grow and expand into new territories.”

At OSN Helena Samaha, who was previously group legal director at Virgin and before that a TMT partner at DLA Piper, will take over Finlayson’s role in November.

  • Hi,
Unfortunatley, OSN is not broadcasted in europe, though they do have the best channels either for movies, including Egyptian one's, or sport. I hope OSN will be on Astra Or Hotbird soon.
