Lovells has elected finance head David Harris to succeed Lesley MacDonagh as its new managing partner.
Harris, who is due to take office on 1 May 2005 for a four year term, beat off fierce competition from rivals Andrew Skipper, Lovells head of commercial, and competition head John Pheasant.
The election took place one year earlier than expected after The Lawyer exclusively revealed (12 July) that MacDonagh was stepping down before the end of her term. However, she will stay on for at least another year to hand over the reins.
