Harneys adds XXIV Old Buildings barrister to partnership

Offshore firm Harneys has continued the growth of its litigation practice with the hire of barrister David Herbert as a partner.

Herbert joins Harneys as head of the firm’s Cayman Islands litigation and insolvency team. He has been on full-time secondment from London set XXIV Old Buildings since 2009.

The hire is the second barrister appointment Harneys has made this year. Jeremy Child joined the firm from Enterprise Chambers in September 2011. Harneys has also recruited lawyers from firms including Field Fisher Waterhouse and Norton Rose for its Cayman litigation team within the past year.

Herbert’s previous instructions from Harneys include the liquidation of the Sphinx Group and the representation of a defendant in the $10bn fraud litigation brought against Saudi company Saad Group in Cayman.
