Finnish firm Hannes Snellman has secured a significant coup by luring the head of legal from the debt capital markets division of pan-Nordic investment bank Nordea.
Matti Engelberg joins the firm as a partner in the finance and capital markets group. Engelberg, a former client, was head of legal services and chief legal counsel for Nordea debt capital markets. He told The Lawyer that he hoped his appointment would further strengthen relations between Hannes Snellman and the bank.
Engelberg has worked at Nordea and its predecessor companies for 18 years, working across a number of areas including mergers and acquisitions and equity-related instruments.
