Hammonds, walkers step up to dolcis sale

Hammonds and Walker Morris have acted on the administration of high street shoe shop chain Dolcis. Prior to being wound up, Dolcis operated from 185 locations across the UK.

Hammonds acted for financial services giant KPMG, the administrators. A team led by Hammonds’ head of business recovery and insolvency, John Alderton, completed a sale of Dolcis’ assets – including up to 23 stores – to Stylo Barratt Shoes, a subsidiary of rival mid-market shoe retailer Stylo.

Alderton said: “Dolcis is yet another victim of the tough trading conditions in which the retail sector is operating. We are delighted to have been able to assist in reaching this deal with Stylo for the Dolcis brand.” Walker Morris acted for Stylo, led by partner Simon Clark.
