Hammonds replaces lost employment head

Hammonds has appointed partner Matthew Lewis as its new Leeds head of employment.

The move comes after former employment head Mark Shrives-Wright left the firm in September (The Lawyer.com, 2 October).

Lewis joined Hammonds as an associate in 1998 and became partner in 2006 in the firm’s human capital group, which combines Hammonds’ pensions and employment capabilities.

The human capital group suffered a number of departures from its pensions division earlier this year.

Ealier this year The Lawyer.com (29 April) reported that Eversheds had hired Hammonds pensions partner Jay Doraisamy, who headed the London pensions practice, as well as pensions partner David Beswick. They both left the firm at the end of its lock-in period in April.
