Hammonds recruits new Hong Kong managing partner

Hammonds appointed a former Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BL&G) partner as the head of its Hong Kong office.

Anthony Chan starts work at Hammonds today (1 September), where he will become managing partner for the office, which trades under the name of Li Brandt & Co.

He specialises in finance and investment with particular expertise in the technology, aviation, and utilities sectors.

Prior to joining BL&G two years ago, Chan had worked for both Baker & McKenzie and Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy in Hong Kong.

Keith Brandt, who heads up Hammonds’ Hong Kong operation, said the hire would mean further development not only on the island but also in mainland China and southeast Asia.

BL&G senior partner Richard Dedman said the firm wished Chan well in his new role.
