Hammonds’ Berlin office has added a second partner to its projects and planning team after a swoop on Freshfields.
Hermann Müller, a senior associate at Freshfields, joins Hammonds as a salaried partner and is the second partner in the growing property, planning and construction team. Previously he spent five years with Freshfields in Vienna and Berlin, where he built up a practice specialising in projects, infrastructure, PPP and PFI work.
Martin Fleckenstein, head of the property, planning and construction department at Hammonds, said that Müller’s expertise will be extremely useful in the next few years.
“I think he will be very good for the team,” Fleckenstein said. “Infrastructure is the area of the future for us in Germany.”
Fleckenstein also said that he plans to further expand his department with the hire of more assistants to add to the current five. Recent work for Hammonds includes work on the privatisation of psychiatric hospitals, and advising on a proposed magnetic high speed rail link, the Transrapid, between Hamburg and Berlin.
