Halliwells has launched a redundancy consultation across its London-based corporate team, with the group severely lagging behind budget.
As many as eight solicitors and support staff could be without jobs as a result of the review, which closes in early March. Head of corporate Julian Lewis has resigned from the firm and is currently on gardening leave before assuming his role as a partner at Fladgate Fielder. Corporate partner Martin Walsh has also left the firm.
Managing partner Ian Austin said: "We must reorganise our corporate team to achieve our wider objectives. Our growth in London will continue." Meanwhile, an unconfirmed number of support staff is poised for redundancy in the Manchester office on the back of the firm's move from five offices to a more expensive single site.
