Halliwells managing partner Ian Austin has stepped down from the role as part of a management rejig that sees him take up the newly-created position of executive chairman.
Liverpool-based corporate partner Jonathan Brown has been named managing partner.
In the role of executive chairman Austin (pictured) will focus on developing strategic and commercial objectives. As managing partner Brown will implement strategy and manage operations and budgets.
Alec Craig remains in the position of senior partner - a position focused on client growth.
The news comes after The Lawyer revealed yesterday that has Manches pulled out of merger talks with Halliwells after the two firms seriously considered a tie-up (17 September 2009).
Meanwhile corporate partners Frank Shepherd and James Sheridan and commercial partner Craig Chaplin will be leaving Halliwells for DWF’s Manchester office.
