Eversheds, Addleshaws on AA roster" />Halliwells has snared a role on the Automobile Association's (AA) legal panel alongside Addleshaw Goddard and Eversheds.
While the AA currently operates a number of other firms dealing with consumer queries such as insurance claims, this is the first time that the AA has established a formal panel of law firms to deal with its full range of corporate and commercial legal issues.
AA head of legal John Mortimer told The Lawyer: "Last year we engaged in a full review of all of our suppliers, including the providers of legal services. We wanted to make sure that we were getting value for money and that we had the right resources available to us across the field.
"After a full tender exercise we chose these three firms to be on this panel."
This is a particular coup for Halliwells, which gains a new client in the AA, while both Addleshaws and Eversheds are regular advisers to the organisation. The panel appointment is for an initial one-year term.
Halliwells IP partner and the firm's AA relationship partner Craig Chaplin told The Lawyer: "There was a competitive tender with quite a wide range of national and large firms. We've been appointed across the board for a full service and we've already been instructed on a variety of litigation, IT and employment work.
"We're obviously very excited about the opportunity to work with them and will strive hard to make the relationship work."
