Halliwells is hedging its bets on an upturn in the real estate investment market in the coming months, recruiting partner Amanda Crowe from Charles Russell to head the London investment team.
Halliwells head of real estate Simon Hardwick said the firm is planning "to have a greater presence in the institutional investment market in the medium to long term".
He added: "Some of Amanda's clients have effectively been outside of the market and are looking to acquire stock at better value."
According to Hardwick, the firm has already been appointed by Crowe's key clients. These include a number of UK-based funds and companies that Crowe handled during her 24-year career in buying, selling, funding and management work at Charles Russell.
However, a spokesperson at Charles Russell was sceptical about the claims that the clients will follow Crowe to Halliwells, arguing that it "remains to be seen whether this is true".
