Linklaters has announced the hire of Haarmann Hemmelrath co-founder Wilhelm Haarmann as a partner in its Frankfurt office.
Haarmann joins the magic circle firm from Haarmann, the firm he set up in early 2006 (6 January 2006) after quitting the beleagured Haarmann Hemmelrath in 2005 in a row over the firm’s remuneration system.
He is a tax and corporate specialist, focusing mainly on M&A, private equity and venture capital. As well as being a lawyer he is a certified public accountant and tax adviser.
Linklaters Germany corporate head Hans-Ulrich Wilsing said: “With Wilhelm Haarmann, we’re gaining one of the most renowned advisers at the interface of tax and corporate law. His many years of experience in providing advice across different practice areas and his exceptional networking connections will be of great value and a big enhancement for Linklaters’ clients.”
Linklaters’ last hire in Germany saw Noerr employment partner Georg Annuss join the firm in Munich (6 September 2012). However, the firm also lost a partner last year as IP head Jens Matthes quit for Allen & Overy (2 May 2012).
