QUEBEC firm Joli-Coeur Lacasse Lemieux Simard St-Pierre has become the thirteenth practice admitted to international network the Pannone Law Group.
The firm, which has offices in French-speaking Trois-Rivieres and Sainte-Foy, joins practices in sites including the UK, Paris, Barcelona, Milan and Stockholm.
The group, established in 1989 by Manchester practice Pannone & Partners, was the first European economic interest grouping to be registered for lawyers.
Head of Pannones' corporate department Soren Tattam said Joli-Coeur Lacasse was admitted to the group because links with Canada were becoming increasingly important for businesses in the European region.
He said the country now provided "significant" trade opportunities for Europe, particularly in hi-tech industries.
"The addition of Joli-Coeur Lacasse is an exciting development, strengthening the firm's existing close connections with the North American continent and enabling our bi-lingual teams to provide a full range of legal services for clients in both the UK and Canada," he said.
Tattam said the group was looking to take on additional members in countries not already represented, and had held meetings with practices in Finland, Denmark, Holland and Germany.
