Insurance-focused Greenwoods saw revenue bounce up in the year ending 31 December 2011, from £18m to £20.3m. The firm attributed the increase to overall market growth across its full spectrum of insurance disputes, including personal injury, construction, health and safety and automotive-related matters.

A particular focus on marketing efforts also pushed up numbers, leading to the firm winning more cross-border work from its current clients. Greenwoods also held on to its core clients despite a number of panel reviews last year.

Qualified lawyer numbers have grown by 46 per cent over the past three years, rising from 71 to 104 since 2009. This was due in part to Greenwoods opening a Southampton office in May last year, a move that added to the firm’s 2011–12 financials as expected.

The firm is also looking to expand its office space in Bristol, signaling that organic growth will remain a focus for the current financial year.
