RAILTRACK has picked Peterborough firm Greenwoods to carry out its debt recovery work for England and Wales.
The 14-partner practice saw off competition from about eight other firms to be selected for the contract.
Managing partner Michael Taylor says he is "absolutely delighted".
"It is a substantial amount of work - in the region of 1,000 cases a year," he says.
Greenwoods already carries out Railtrack's litigation work in East Anglia, the Midlands and the Home Counties. The firm was picked after taking part in a beauty parade and following a visit by Railtrack representatives to the firm's offices.
"The debt recovery department already represents a number of big names," says Taylor.
