Greenberg Traurig lawyer takes in-house role at Anesco

Energy outfit Anesco has announced the hire of former Greenberg Traurig Maher solicitor Jeremy Cross as its new legal chief.

The real estate and energy specialist spent a year working with Anesco as external counsel while at Greenberg’s London office, advising on the acquisition and disposal of solar assets before taking up a six-month secondment in-house.

Asked about his new role at the energy services company, Cross said: “There’s huge appeal in advising across the business rather than specialising in one area. It’s a very exciting, constantly changing area.”

In a statement Anesco CEO Adrian Pike said that Cross was an obvious choice for head of legal based on his experience in real estate and green energy as well as his professionalism in the last few months.

Cross’s old firm Greenberg has reportedly shelved talks of a possible merger with embattled US firm Dewey & LeBoeuf (30 April 2012).
