Morgan Cole is celebrating after winning Canadian terrorist defence company Vanguard Response Systems as a client.
The firm advised Vanguard on its first foray into the UK, the C$35m (£14.8m) acquisition of terrorist device suppliers PW Allen Holdings. The company will focus on developing technologies to combat terrorism.
The instruction came following an introduction from Canadian law firm Gowlings to Morgan Cole’s Reading office. The firms have longstanding clients in common and have referred clients in the past. Corporate partners Michael Stace and Bruce Potter led on the deal, with Birmingham’s Gateley Wareing advising PW Allen Holdings.
“We’ve benefited from working closely with Gowlings in the past, and the Vanguard deal is another example of that,” said Potter. It is understood the firm has already won repeat instructions from Vanguard.
