International law firm Gowling WLG, formerly Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, has triumphed at the China Business Law Journal’s China Business Law Awards 2015, winning the award for Intellectual Property.
China Business Law Journal’s China Business Law Awards are based on hundreds of nominations received from China-focused corporate counsel and legal professionals around the world. They take in to account factors including client and peer feedback, landmark deals and cases and other notable achievements over the past year.
Chief representative officer Jamie Rowlands said: “We’re thrilled to receive this award, which is fantastic recognition of the great work our team is doing for a wide variety of clients in China in many different sectors.”
Client highlights in the last year include transactional deals for one of the world’s largest engineering consultants in the automotive sector; the filing and prosecution of numerous global household names’ intellectual property (IP) portfolios; and acting for a number of well-known brands in high-profile enforcement actions relating to unfair competition, trade mark and patent disputes.
The Guangzhou-based team also entered the World Trade Mark Review 1000 (WTMR) for the first time earlier this year with Jamie Rowlands and Dr Xu Jian named as leading individuals.
