Thats the message that Addleshaws Energy Guerrilla aka Manchester-based associate Martin Curtis is trying to spread. Curtis has devised a wacky campaign to get people to switch off their monitors overnight. Last November Curtis walked around Addleshaws Manchester office leaving a picture of a happy gorilla and the message have a banana for those who had switched off and a picture of an angry ape next to those that were left on. And though the move caused chaos for the firms IT desk his efforts were later applauded. Since Curtis launched his campaign more than 50 per cent of people now turn of their monitors compared to a pathetic 14 per cent last November.
