Goodwin Procter has hired two partners from Ashurst in London, one of whom will join the US firm as London office chair.
David Evans and Samantha Lake Coghlan will both join Goodwin Procter’s City office as partners once they complete their notice periods at Ashurst.
Both Evans and Lake Coghlan have spent their entire legal careers at Ashurst. Evans was a member of the firm’s management board while Lake Coghlan was made a partner in the firm’s investment funds group in 2009.
Evans will head Goodwin’s City practice, spearheading expansion across Europe. Evans and Lake Coghlan will both focus on real estate private equity deals at the US firm.
In a statement, Gil Menna, co-chair of the real estate, REITs and real estate capital markets group at Goodwin, said: “Sam and David’s vertically integrated practice, which covers both the raising and deployment of capital within the real estate industry, synchs up extraordinarily well with Goodwin’s platform and industry focus.”
