Goodman Derrick assists in establishment of independent press monitor

Goodman Derrick has been commissioned to assist in the establishment of IMPRESS: the Independent Monitor for the Press.

Launched in December 2013, the IMPRESS Project is aimed at establishing a press regulator that is independent of both newspaper owners and politicians.

With the support of journalists and free-speech campaigners including Sir Harold Evans, Lisa Appignanesi and Isabel Hilton, The IMPRESS Project is putting together a regulator, IMPRESS, that meets the criteria for independence and effectiveness set out in the Royal Charter on Self-Regulation of the Press.

The Goodman Derrick team is being led by Stephen Hornsby (regulatory) and Simon McLeod (corporate).
