Irish law firm A&L Goodbody has appointed M&A partner Michael Greene to replace retiring chairman Marcus Beresford
Greene was elected by the partners last month. Along with the executive committee, Goodbodys managing partner Paul Carroll is responsible for all day-to-day decision-making. Greene has no executive authority, but will handle important partnership matters and head up the policy committee, which handles long-term strategic issues such as firm direction and foreign offices. Also on the committee are Carroll and elected partners. Greene will handle any disputes that might arise between partners. His term is for three years, after which he can be re-elected.
