Despite almost a year of merger talks with Richards Butler coming to nothing in early 2005, Proskauer Rose continues to explore options for a UK base.
Even without the additional weight, however, Proskauer managed a 15 per cent increase in revenue in 2005, from £217m ($395m) to £249.2m ($453.5m).
In the US, the firm's Washington DC office beefed up during 2006 with a March raid on West Coast giant Heller Ehrman that netted four life sciences and IP partners including Colin Sandercock, formerly co-chair of Heller's patents & trademark group, along with John Isacson, Paul Booth and David Laub.
In early January 2006, the DC office also hired Rhett Krulla from the US Federal Trade Commission, where she was a senior lawyer, and Robyn Manos from the Securities and Exchange Commission, where she was a former special counsel.
In March, the firm's DC office also moved into larger premises at 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, down the road from the White House at number 1600.
