Revenue at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher rose by 7.7 per cent from £380.7m ($693m) in 2004 to £409.9m ($746m). Similarly average profit per equity partner rose by 7.9 per cent, from £824,000 ($1.5m) to £898,000 ($1.64m).
The firm has a conservative approach to international growth. At one time it had offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo, but pulled out more than 10 years ago because they were not profitable enough.
The partners have been examining the possibility of re-opening in China but Gibson's cautious approach means that nothing is likely to happen for the next couple of years at least.
The firm has chosen to focus on its current locations, and its offices in Brussels, London and Paris have grown steadily but slowly over the past two years. London turned over £17.5m last year.
