Infrastructure specialist Thelen Reid & Priest entered the Global 100 for the first time last year at number 98, with total revenue of £152.7m ($277.9m), a 16 per cent increase on 2004.
It was also a record year for the West Coast firm in terms of average profit per equity partner, which hit £467,000 ($850,000) in 2005.
The firm’s solid track record in major projects was highlighted during the year with its roles in the $2.2bn (£1.21bn) Army Hawaii Family Housing project (the largest privatisation project ever awarded by the US army), in which it advised the developer Actus Lend Lease, and the $320m (£175.8m) Crockett Cogeneration Project, in which it advised the project company.
In 2006 Thelen Reid continued its expansion strategy, opening an office in Shanghai to support further growth in China and throughout Asia.
The firm also continues to operate its unique Iraq-based joint venture with Pinsent Masons, called Masons Thelen Reid (MTR). Launched in 2003 after the end of the second Gulf War, and in association with the Baghdad-based firm Salam Abdullah & Partners, MTR is primarily an infrastructure-related operation.
