Prominent in-house lawyer Steven Glick has found his new job transformed before even taking up his post.
Glick has left his job as general counsel for Ladbroke Group and is due to begin work this week as general counsel and senior vice president of business affairs at CIC Video International.
But Universal Studios has pulled out of CIC, its long-standing joint venture with Paramount.
CIC distributed the studios' films worldwide, excluding the US and Canada.
Glick's job appears to be secure. But, instead of building up the business, The Lawyer understands he will now have to help restructure the company in the wake of Universal's decision to pull out.
Paramount may not be able to maintain CIC in its current form, having lost the revenues provided by Universal.
Glick declined to comment about the job change.
