In a second blow to Manchester firm Glaisyers its five-strong construction team in Manchester, headed by partner Tom Ellis, has been poached by Pannone & Partners.
The move follows the defection to Pannones of Glaisyers' head of company and commercial, Mark Hodge, which was reported in The Lawyer last week.
Ellis said that he and his team had been approached by Pannones, adding that the move would allow Pannones' construction team to vie for second position behind Masons in in Manchester.
Ellis has joined Pannones as the second construction partner and has brought with him two assistant solicitors and two support staff. Pannones' construction team will continue to be headed by partner Gareth Jessop and will now number eight in total.
Glaisyers managing partner Mark Atkins is understood have been surprised when Ellis handed in his notice and has indicated that he will not be immediately replaced.
