Gladman creates Scottish in-house team

Speculative development company Gladman Developments has established a legal department in Scotland with the appointment of Biggart Baillie associate Afshan Khan.

The Cheshire-headquartered company, which specialises in industrial sheds and office developments, has had an office in Livingston for more than a year, and until now has handed all its Scottish legal work to Biggart Baillie. Khan worked closely with the company while at the firm.

Khan said: "The company wanted to build up its own in-house legal team north of the border to duplicate what it has in England but on a smaller scale."

The company has five in-house lawyers based at its head office and the intention is to further grow the team in Scotland. The team is led by head of legal Jody Phillips.
