Wragge & Co has won a place on the Greater London Authority's (GLA) legal panel, scooping instructions to advise it in connection with London's bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
The instruction, following a beauty parade, is a major coup for Wragges. One source said that the firm's success in the tender process was a consequence of its real estate capability in London.
To date, Wragges has been advising the GLA in connection with the creation of a bid vehicle, which has participation from a number of key players, including the GLA, the London Development Agency, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, as well as the British Olympic Association.
Wragges' Birmingham-based partner Peter Keith Lucas will manage the firm's relationship with the GLA.
