French firm Gide Loyrette Nouel has advised ContourGlobal on its $146m (£88.56m) loan agreement with Overseas Private Investment Corporation (Opic) to fund the expansion of the 100MW thermal power station at Lomé in Togo.
The transaction is one of the largest investments in the West African energy sector and will secure the electricity supply for a region that is seeking new sources of energy. The Gide team was led by project finance partner Bruno de Cazalet.
