Gide fills London disputes gap with arbitration partner

Gide Loyrette Nouel has relocated arbitration partner Rupert Reece to its London office, six months after losing a disputes team to Brown Rudnick.

Reece, who is both a barrister and a French avocat, moves back to London after 11 years as a partner in Gide’s Paris office. He specialises in international arbitration and joint ventures, construction and trade disputes.

The move follows the February news that partner Nicholas Tse and a team of associates were moving to Brown Rudnick (13 February 2012). Tse had founded Gide’s international disputes practice in London and had worked at Gide for 11 years.

Reece will be the second disputes partner for Gide in London, alongside Adam Rooney who was made up in April 2011.

In a statement he said he was excited by returning to London. He added: “With our client base and international network, there is a lot for Gide to do here and I am looking forward to contributing to the long-term growth of the firm’s London office, which is integral to our firm’s global strategy.”
