Leading Italian independent Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners has revamped its top leadership structure, introducing the separate roles of senior and managing partner for the first time.
Firm founder Francesco Gianni will be the firm's first senior partner, while M&A partner Giovanni Nardulli will become managing partner. Strategy will be looked after by the senior partner with the executive committee, while the managing partner will be in charge of the day-to-day running of the firm.
Both men are Rome-based corporate partners at the firm, which also has five other Italian offices and three overseas, including a two-partner London office.
The moves were voted in at a recent partnership conference and are part of ongoing efforts of succession planning for the firm. Last year the firm handed management roles to 14 partners and introduced a bonus committee.
Gianni was Linklaters' former Italian alliance partner until an acrimonious split in 2004.
