Italian firm Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners has announced the appointment of five new partners.
All the new appointments were based in either Rome or Milan and take the firm’s number of partners to 62.
Davide Braghini, the former head of real estate at Allen & Overy Italy, who departed for Gianni in September 2009, joins the partnership in Milan, while banking and finance partner Giuseppe De Simone has been made up in Rome.
Teodora Marocco, Giovanna Puppo and Alessandro Villani, who specialise in environmental law, corporate law and litigation respectively, are all Milan based.
Managing partner Tomaso Cenci said: “I warmly congratulate all of our new partners. All are outstanding lawyers and as a group they represent a broad range of practice areas and also the firm’s ability to offer cutting-edge advice in all areas of commercial law.”
The firm has been consistent in its levels of promotion, making up the same number of partners last year.
In January 2010 rival firm Chiomenti promoted only two associates to its partnership, while Bonelli Erede Pappalardo in December 2009 admitted six into its partnership; four senior associates, one junior partner and an of counsel.
As well as Milan and Rome, Gianni has offices in Bologna, Padua, Turin, Brussels, London and New York.
