Germany’s Luther names managing partner duo

German firm Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft has elected two managing partners to lead the firm from July.

Hans-Georg Hahn and Markus Sengpiel will take over from Stefan Kraus, who has held the position for the past 15 years and is a founding partner of the firm.

Hahn and Sengpiel, who will start in their new posts on 1 July, were elected by a partner vote.

Hahn, who was previously head of the firm’s Hanover office, will focus on the strategic development and positioning of the firm while Sengpiel will be responsible for operations and finance.

Kraus, a corporate expert, did not stand in the elections.

“It’s the right time for the next generation of partners to take on the responsibility of managing Luther,” said Kraus. “Hans-Georg Hahn and Markus Sengpiel have helped to shape the firm for years in their different functions. I’m convinced that they’ll be excellent leaders and will develop the firm further, which gives me the freedom to concentrate fully on my work as a lawyer and my clients.”

Luther has 12 offices in Germany and six across Europe and Asia.
