Global property business GE Real Estate has appointed a new general counsel for Europe.
Marianna Nitsch (pictured), who joined the company just ten months ago as the general counsel for France, takes on the European GC role from Thierry Leleu, who has been promoted to European managing director of the brand’s Global Investment Management platform.
GE Real Estate manages $87bn in assets. Nitsch joined the company in September from medical care business Biogen Idec, where she was international legal director and chief compliance officer.
GE Real Estate senior vice president legal, Eileen Brumback, said: “Marianna’s experience will be of immense value to the business on a pan-European level and help us continue to maintain the very highest standard of compliance and legal practices.”
Nitsch was admitted to the Paris bar in 1995. She has a masters degree in law from the Vienna University in Austria, a DEA (Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies) in International Economic Law from Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne.
