Gazprom Market and Trading, the UK subsidiary of the Russian natural gas giant, has appointed a new head of legal.
New Zealander Jacqueline Hill joined the company as its general counsel last month. She replaced Carole Colley, who is understood to be taking a holiday.
Hill joins Gazprom from EDF Energy, where she was a member of the legal and compliance group, reporting to UK head of legal Robert Quick.
Hill, who is the sole in-house counsel for the UK subsidiary, instructed Hunton & Williams on Gazprom's first move into the UK gas market in its tie up with independent Pennine Natural Gas and supplier Natural Gas Shipping Services (see page 16).
Colley is understood to have been working on a contract basis with Gazprom. She was brought in to establish the company's UK legal function.
Colley first moved in-house when she joined Aquila Energy in 2000 from the projects and banking group of Rowe & Maw.
