National firm Gateley has boosted its banking and media teams with hires from Shoosmiths and Lincoln’s Inn firm Candey.
Colin Mattis joins the firm as partner to lead the London banking and finance team as Gateley moves to expand its offering in the City.
Mattis joins from Shoosmiths, where he headed the banking and finance South team.
The firm has also appointed TV and entertainment lawyer Lisa Loga, who leaves the partnership at Candey to join as a partner. Before joining private practice, Logan spent a number of years in-house at Disney, Nickelodeon and the Discovery Channel, where she was a director legal.
Commenting on his appointment, Mattis said: “The opportunity to lead and help expand a London-based banking and finance team is hugely appealing.
“I’ll be working closely with our well-established corporate and real estate teams in London to capitalise on the new business opportunities that exist within the City as well building on my contacts around the M25 and M1 corridors.”
Logan added: “The media and entertainment industry is constantly evolving and is incredibly fast-paced and this is what drives my enthusiasm for working in this area of the legal sector. It’s also an exciting time to join Gateley with its growth and expansion into new markets.”
