Garrigues has appointed corporate partner Ferran Escayola to head its New York office.
Escayola was named managing partner of the New York office earlier this month and will replace Xavier Ruiz, an M&A expert who joined the firm in 2005 from McDermott Will & Emery.
Escayola joined Garrigues in 1999 from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom’s New York office, where he was a foreign associate.
According to Garrigues, Ruiz will remain in the New York office until further notice.
Garrigues has had an office in New York since 1973.
