Spain’s Garrigues and its Portuguese best friend Leóidas Matos & Associados are launching an alliance with a trio Latin American firms.
Garrigues and Leóidas Matos are being joined by Argentina’s Bruchou, Fernández Madro Lombardi & Mitrani, Brazilian firm Barbosa Müssnich & Aragão and Mijares Angoitia Cortés Y Fuentes SC in Mexico
Chairman of the alliance will be Garrigues Walker, president of the Spanish firm, who will serve a three-year term after which his successor will be appointed by ballot. The first general secretary will be Garrigues partner Pablo Olábarri.
The management committee of the new alliance consists of two or three members from each firm, although each will only be able to cast one vote on decisions affecting the network.
Bruchou is a 16 partner firm with an office in Buenoas Aires. Barbosa houses 15 partners in three Brazilian offices and Mijares has 12 partners in Mexico City.
