LAW firm Garrett & Co has set up a new European intellectual property network.
Reading-based partner Marcus O'Leary says that the European intellectual property group, which currently includes lawyers from Norway, Denmark, Holland, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain and Saudi Arabia, is his firm's way of competing with the big international law firms.
"The idea is to provide a service which gives pan-European advice on different aspects of intellectual property law in the various countries. I am looking to recruit more people in the countries we do not yet cover," says O'Leary.
O'Leary says that members of the network will use electronic mail to communicate and collate advice. He says that 80 per cent of his work already uses e-mail.
