Games retailer Games Workshop has hired Gill Stevenson from Nottingham firm Roythorne & Co to replace its outgoing legal manager Hugo Pritchard.
Games retailer Games Workshop has hired Gill Stevenson from Nottingham firm Roythorne & Co to replace its outgoing legal manager Hugo Pritchard.
Stevenson was an assistant at Roythorne for two years and before that spent five years at regional firm Nelsons. She joins as legal manager for Games Workshop to focus on commercial and IP matters. Pritchard left the company to join the legal department of the Derbyshire Building Society.
Stevenson said: “I was looking for a new challenge more than anything.”
Stevenson will be the main point of contact for Games Workshop’s external firms, with Shoosmiths being the company’s chief corporate adviser. Apart from one trainee, Stevenson is the only solicitor at the company.
Games Workshop is one of the world’s largest retailers of role-playing games, such as Warhammer, and took around £110m in revenue in 2007. The company is in the middle of a restructuring programme after reporting a pre-tax profit of almost £3m last year.
